Sacraments
All required forms are available in digital copy at the bottom of this page.
Please contact the parish office if you need any help or additional forms in digital or paper format.
Baptism
Baptisms are normally conducted in the parish church on a Sunday afternoon. They may also take place at the 11.30am Sunday Mass, or at a convenient time arranged with Father.
Baptism is an occasion for thanking God for the gift of your beautiful child and for gathering family and friends together to celebrate the new addition to the family.
Through Baptism you dedicate your child to the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and you promise to bring them to know and love God in return by living good Christian lives.
God parents support the parents in these aims.
At least one of the God parents must be an adult who is a practicing Roman Catholic and the other(s) Christian in faith or outlook.
First Communion & Confirmation
(RCIC)
In our diocese the Children celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation when they are of Primary 3 age and the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist normally when they are in Primary 4 at school.
Here at St Teresa's the children prepare for the Sacraments here in the parish. This is led by our parish catechists.
We ask parishioners to register their child to prepare for and receive the Sacraments here in the parish regardless of which primary school they attend. Sacraments are celebrated by your parish not your school, although our Catholic schools do a great job to supplement their religious and moral education.
The children also participate in the 11.30am Mass each Sunday during this preparation time so parents should plan to participate then.
For more information please have a chat with Father.
To enrol for the Sacramental Preparation of your child please complete and return a Registration Form at the back of church.
Weddings
At least six months notice is normally required. Wedding ceremonies can take place here in St Teresa’s Church.
They may also take place in St Joseph’s College Memorial Chapel (if either the Bride or Groom was a past-pupil or a current or former member of staff) or at The Crichton Chapel (service only).
Please note both these Chapels need to be booked through their appropriate authorities.
Couples are advised that they must also contact the local Registrar at least 28 days before the intended marriage to arrange the Marriage schedule.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Growing In Faith sessions are run throughout the year.
They take place in the Baptistry Room inside the church as advertised in the parish bulletin.
All are welcome.
If you are an adult (aged 14+) and you have been thinking about becoming a Catholic or interested in finding a little bit more about the Catholic faith then you are invited to register to take part in the “Growing in Faith” sessions as a member of the RCIA group.
To enquire about joining the Catholic Church as an adult please register for the RCIA course by completing the Registration Form and returning it to Father.
Sacrament of the sick
The sacrament is offered at Mass at specific times of the year, this will be announced in the parish bulletin.
Should you or a loved one require the sacrament outside of these times, please get in contact with Father Uchenna or Father Dennis to arrange this.
For those who are sick, or housebound, your Clergy are available to offer the sacraments of healing (anointing), Reconciliation and Holy Communion. If any parishioner requires assistance or needs to talk, please call on the Parish number.
