Eucharistic Ministers

The term Eucharistic Ministers includes those who assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at the Eucharist, and those who may take Holy Communion using previously consecrated elements to the sick, housebound, or residential care homes.

Children's Liturgy

Children's Liturgy is a special worship service designed for children to help them understand the teachings of the Bible in a way that is engaging and age-appropriate.

It takes place during Mass and includes simplified readings, interactive activities, and songs that are easy for children to learn and participate in. The goal of Children's Liturgy is to help children develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for their faith.

Altar Linen

Our Altar linen requires cleaning and our Altar needs dressed to ensure it looks presentable for Mass.

Please speak to Father if this is something you can support with.

Altar Serving

Altar serving is a practice where young people assist the priest during Mass.

Altar servers may perform tasks such as carrying the cross or candles, and holding the book for the priest during prayer.

This role is a way for young people to become more involved in their faith community and to learn about the traditions and rituals of their religion.

If your young person has had their Confirmation and First Holy Communion, why not encourage them to get involved?

Speak to Deacon Willie for more information.

Pass Keeping (Collections)

A pass keeper is a person who's role is to ensure that the donations are collected.

Pass keepers are an important part of our community and play a vital role in supporting the work the church.

Please speak to Joan or Father to serve to the parish in this way.

Church Cleaning

Cleaning our church is not just a task, it's a way to show our love and respect for the place where we gather to worship. By volunteering to help clean, you are contributing to the beauty and welcoming atmosphere of our church. Let's work together to keep our sacred space clean and inviting for all who enter.

Welcoming Committee

Welcoming people to Mass and handing out Hymn books is an essential part of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in any church. It's the first point of contact for many visitors and can set the tone for their entire experience. By greeting with a smile and providing them with the necessary materials, we can help them feel more comfortable and engaged in the service. It's a small gesture that can make a big difference in fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Offertory (Procession with the Gifts)

A person processing with the offertory at Mass plays an important role in the liturgy. They carry the gifts of bread and wine to the altar symbolising the offering of ourselves and our lives to God. This act of bringing forward the gifts is a reminder of our call to be generous and selfless in our daily lives.

Choir/Organ

Joining the church choir is a great way to connect with your community and deepen your spiritual practice. It allows you to use your talents to serve others and create a sense of unity through music. Additionally, singing in a choir has been shown to have numerous physical and mental health benefits, as reducing stress and improving breathing and posture.

Please speak to Elizabeth if you feel you can support our community in this way.

Reading

Reading from the Bible at Mass is an essential part of the Catholic liturgy. It allows the faithful to hear the Word of God and reflect on its meaning in their lives. The readings are carefully chosen to correspond with the liturgical season and provide guidance and inspiration for the congregation.

The prayers of intercession allow the congregation to come together and offer their intentions to God, as well as pray for the needs of the world. Through these prayers, we are reminded of our responsibility to care for others and to work towards a more just and peaceful world.

Hospitality

Hospitality after Mass is an essential part of building a welcoming and inclusive community. It provides an opportunity for members to connect with one another, share their experiences, and build relationships. By extending a warm welcome to all, we can create a sense belonging and foster a spirit of fellowship that strengthens our faith and enriches our lives. Your support in helping with teas and coffees, or some food goes a long way to providing this warm space after Mass.

Flower Team

Arranging flowers in church is an important task that requires attention to detail and creativity. The flowers should complement the church's decor and enhance the overall atmosphere. It's important to choose the right colours and types of flowers that will convey the intended message. Whether it's for a special occasion or a regular Sunday service, a well-arranged floral display can make a big difference in the church's ambiance.

If you feel this reflects your skills and talents, please get in touch!
